RANDOME FRIDAY: 10 SHOPPING TIPS FROM A SHOPAHOLIC
Its Friday, and you know what that means, Randome Friday!
Shopping is one of my favourite hobbies so I thought I'd share some shopping tips with you.
This photo was taken earlier this year on my best shopping experience ever. See full post HERE.
1. Don’t Go Broke
I can't tell you how many times I've gone overboard, shopped with all my money then had nothing left for the month. What’s the point of having a closet full of clothes if you have no money to go out and rock these clothes?
2. Shop with a Purpose
One way to avoid binging or going broke is to decide what you want to buy before shopping. You can either make a mental or written list. Analyze your wardrobe and decide what items you need. Another thing to do would be to budget, for example, give yourself a $100 limit every month.
3. Save, Save, Save
When you save money you have so much money to spend on other things and you can shop a whole lot more and not feel guilty about it. This is honestly one of the hardest things for me, but it’s so worth it.
4. Stick to Basics
I love basic because they are versatile. Also if you’re still discovering your style these are the best pieces to go for.
5. Think, Think, Think
Have you ever seen an item you were so in love with but for some reason, you could not buy it, then when you eventually went to get the item, you did not want it anymore? Well that’s because you had so much time to think. Make sure you think very carefully before going shopping.
6. Test, Test, Test
Never buy something that does not fit well, chances are, rarely would you wear the item. Try the items in different sizes to get the right fit. Also go with a friend and get their opinion on the fit.
One way to get the most of your money is to go shopping during sales. I don’t know about you buy I feel so proud of myself when I get amazing pieces at awesome prices. Sales are usually at the end of every month but it depends on the brand, so know your sale periods.
8. Shop with Cash
When you shop with cash you know exactly how much you are spending compared to using a credit card, you don’t always see all of the money adding up.
9. Shop Your Closet
Often times we buy items, leave them in our closet and forget about them. So make sure to constantly check your closet, you never know what you will find.
Don’t ever buy things just because, oh I know everyone is wearing it but do you really like it? Don’t just follow trends blindly. Always stay true to yourself.
