MRP

If you've been following me for a while, you would have noticed that I rarely wear dresses. My reason is simple, dresses are not as versatile as individual pieces like a skirt or blouse which allows you the option of mixing and matching easily. Now, when I saw this dress on Zalora Thailand I immediately purchased it.  A little black dress is a wardrobe basic every girl should have. The material of this dress is very form fitting and pushes everything in place, though I went a size down after exchanging it several times (their customer service is awesome by the way).

Anyways when I heard about the new MRP collection by Anisa Mpungwe via Cassiedaves and Midecoker, I decided to check it out since I am now in Nigeria. While the collection was nice, a lot of the items I liked were way over my budget so I only parted with this RT collection Kimono which I think will be quite versatile, I'm thinking of wearing it as a dress next time. I went a size up due to the smaller arms (I'm gaining weight) I initially thought it was a Nigerian brand but I later found out that MRP is actually a South African brand, thanks Wikipedia.

When styling this kimono I immediately reached for my LBD. I wore this to church and I feel like the loose Kimono balances out the tightness of the dress. Black and white never fails and a pop of red always makes it better.

On a side note props to all my bloggers out there who take their own pictures. I'm still trying to get the hang of it but I'll get there though I do miss having a photographer.

Dress: Zalora Thailand (Similar) // Kimono: MRP // Heels: Zara // Necklace: H&M // Purse: Street Market

Enough of me Rambling, what are your thoughts on MRP collection by Anisa Mpungwe?

  1. I actually like the anisa mpungwe collection and I blogged about it too. I think its actually affordable compared to most of the prices designers over here place on their stuffs.

I also think a lbs is an essential but I don't even have one. Smh

  2. That Kimono is gorgeous. I agree it will be very versatile. But I found dresses to be versatile as well, layering stuff over or below, wearing them as skirts or tops. As for your LBD? You are rocking it!

  4. i think you should wear more dresses because your body is amazing. I think the only piece of the collection that was abit overpriced was the full skirt. The others were decent going by lagos standards.
im hoping to see you at the yardsale on saturday!

    1. Thanks Mide. Sadly the skirt was one of my favourite prices but I just had to let it go. I honestly didn't thinking shopping here would Cause so much but what did I expect, this is Naija

  5. I totally agree with Alexandra . You should try layering with more versatile pieces like a sweater or a casual blouse.. The LBD is winning :)

  6. I totally agree with you dresses are not really versatile but I still love them regard less, nothing makes me feel lady-like than a nice dress. I love this black one styled with the printed kimono!

  8. Love this look!! I especially love the Kimono and the pattern on it. It is tough doing your own photos, but once you get used to it, it becomes a breeze and you have then added another skill to your list. As far as dress, you have the body for it, and I’m sure you can think of different ways to wear a dress. I look at it as a layer piece sometime to give me ideas.
