And just like that, the month of January is over. Can't say I'm disappointed though, this year is off to a slow start for me due to the postponement of the NYSC (Nigeiran Youth Service) to the month of  May. Hence, I've been doing a lot sitting around and anticipating it. On the bright side my first resolution is going great (read more here)

Now for the outfit, I've never considered myself to be much of a jock or athlete. Although I played basketball in high school but that was due to peer pressure (long story). Anyways when the sports luxe trend started out last year I didn't really embrace it but then I got these pants at the thrfit store and thought why not? There nothing better than being comfy while still looking chic. I paired them with my favourite burgundy top and added my back chunky heels to create a sporty chic look. I have also styled these pants in a more casual and nerdier look here.

Ever say of hear this phrase " So many clothes yet, I have nothing to wear"? Often times people are faced with this dilemma because they are still discovering their style or lack closet essentials. Until you understand the basis of building a wardrobe filled with basics or essentials this will continue to be you everyday. Simpy start by building a wardrobe with basics like a white T-shirt, striped top, denim shirt as well as other things (stay tuned for a post on this).

This skirt has been styled here and here on the blog already but this time around I went with a striped top and added a scarf for a mix of print. I actually wore this to church last Sunday and my nine year old brother took these pictures for me while we stopped to get some pizza for lunch, I'd say he did a great job, you?

I was once asked this question,"if you had to give up all your clothes and keep only one item, what would it be?" While this doesn't seem like  a very realistic question, I simply answered my black pencil skirt. This black pencil skirt is quite versatile and I have rocked it several times on the blog already. I mean you can't go wrong with a pencil skirt (love how it brings out my curves), a nice blouse and a statement belt.

The pastel trend was all the rage in the spring of 2014. What I love about pastels is the soft feminine refreshing hues. Today I decided to bring back this trend by rocking my light blue denim top with my high-waist pants.

I have to admit that I'm quite surprised these pants still fit me. Although, I have been doing the T25 workout challenge to lose some of the extra pounds I've gained, a lot of the workouts involve squatting. Now I have no complaints over the improvements I'm seeing so far but it makes it difficult for me to wear my bottoms which are now very fitted. My sister says I'm nyashous Lol. Anyways, I'll give you more updates when I've finished the challenge. For more details see my post on it here.

I would rock this outfit to a casual brunch or a weekend outing.
What's your take on pastels?

Growing up, I was told to never mix contrasting colours, for example colours like red and blue paired together were a big no-no. I always matched my shoes to my purse or dress to avoid colour riot as my family calls mismatched colours. Now fast forward to 2012, wearing multiple colours became a trend. Being a fashion enthusiast, I embraced this trend and have been rocking it since. Sure it has died down a bit but this is a trend I will never stop rocking because colours just makes everything better.

Whenever I am feeling uninspired, I search for new blogs or stalk some of my favourite celebrities and this outfit was actually inspired by Yvonne Nelson, the Ghanaian actress and model.

So let's talk about shoes! First things first, I love shoes! I actually started my shoe collection last year. Prior to that I was not much of a heel's girl. Believe it or not but I bought a pair of shoes every month while I was in Bangkok. Though, I had my moments when I would binge and get more than two or three pairs of shoes at a time, if you've seen my haul posts, you'd understand. When my mom saw my shoes she said "you don't have shoes like a student" lol. It's all about priorities though.

No matter how many pairs of shoes one has, there are always those pairs that simply match most outfits. Today I thought I'd share with you my favourite shoes, if you follow up on my posts, you would recognize all these pairs.

1. Black Flats
For the most part I prefer pointed shoes. I actually bought this right before I left Thailand and I have been wearing it frequently. This is one of the few pairs of comfy shoes I own. It's so simple yet paired with an outfit it still gives the air of being dressed up. Plus it goes with everything, being black.

2. Chunky Sandals
The chunky heel is what I adore about these sandals. I stalked the Zara website for a while after seeing Shirley of Shirley's Wardrobe rock them. I finally got them on a 70% discount which was amazing. These heels are perfect for those casual looks and the chunky heels adds a cool factor in my opinion.

3. Nude Sandals
When I told my sister the price of these heels she inhaled deeply. They are one of my pricier pairs of shoes. I sadly did not wait for the sale since I had the money for it. Any-who, like the black chunky heels they add that comfy chic look.

4. Nude Pumps
It's no secret that these heels are my favourite pair. My sister thinks I need new shoes since I over-wear them but there is no crime in getting the most out of your investment. These pumps are my substitute for a black pair of pumps, I think  they look classier black pumps compared to.

5. Pink Pumps
Although a recent purchase these shoes have been my go-to pair for a pop of colour in my outfits. Luckily I found them while I was last-minute shopping before I left Thailand. Sadly I have scuffed them a few times on the road here and back home, oh well they still look okay.

I have had a few requests on a post on my transition from Thailand to Nigeria. I will definitely be putting up a post on that but I want to spend more time in the country and at the moment I am in Malabo Equatorial Guinea.

What are your favourite pairs of shoes and why?

Black, talk about the perfect colour, it's never fails or disappoints. It looks great with everything and works for every occasion. Today I decided to go for an all-black look and simply accessorized with my gold plate metal belt. If you've been following me for a while, you would know that this is one of my favorite belts but I sadly had to retire it when the leather in the front started peeling. Then my sister suggested I rock it backwards and tadaa a brand new belt.

Would you believe this sweater belongs to my mom, well a long time ago at least? I believe this items is about 15 years old since she got it while we were in Israel, probably one of the oldest items I've rocked it and it still looks amazing.

Hey guys, long time no blog post. If you follow me on Instagram you would have already seen a preview of this outfit. This post was actually supposed to go up on Monday but unfortunately the internet connection has been so poor. I finally gave up and went to my dad's office which is where I am writing this post from. As you can probably tell from my hair, I wore this outfit a while back to run some errands for my mom. For a dressier look I would definitely go for my blue pumps. What do you think heels or flats?

Hey guys, long time no blog post. If you follow me on Instagram you would have already seen a preview of this outfit. T...

Hey guys! Hope the New Year is off to a great start for you.
Today I am collaborating with Grace of My Style Diary in the Blogger Style Swap, you might recognize her from my post on some of my favorite Nigerian fashion bloggers here. The Style Swap was created by Diane of Dee-Vineanonyme and it's simply recreating a bloggers outfit while still adding your own spin to the look.

This is something I would rock on a day-to-day basis (it's all about comfort). I mean, can it get any better than a turtle neck top, high-waist pants and flats for a casual day out.

The most commonly made resolution every year is to get in shape. Now, as easy as that sounds, working out can be a challenge since it requires consistency. As someone who has been working out for over  two years now, I have to say that it takes a lot of commitment but it's so worth it. Although, there have been periods where I would slack off and sit on my ass, I always seem to get back to it.

What has helped me get back to working out is committing to a workout challenge and following a specified schedule. Today I thought I'd share some workouts challenges for you to try out this year. Stay tuned for more fitness posts.

1. Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred
She may be mean and tough but she gets results which is why I love working out with her. There are 3 levels in this challenge, you do each level for 10 days. I took a break every week so let's say I exercised 6 times a week with a break on the 7th day. This is the perfect workout for shedding extra pounds and toning up a little.

Get it here (Level 1Level 2,  Level 3)

2. Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30 Days
If you're trying to get ripped then this is the challenge for you. In this challenge there are 4 levels which range from 30-35 minutes each. I did each level 6 days a week with a break on the 7th day (it's important to let your body rest). After this workout my arms and legs were toned, I loved it. I advise doing the 30 day shred before this challenge if you would like to lose some extra pounds before toning up.

Get it here (Level 1Level 2Level 3Level 4)

4. Keaira Lashae
Workouts can get quite boring and uninteresting but never with Keaira Lashae. She brings her energetic and fun personality to each workout. Most of her workouts involve dances with Latin, Caribbean and hip-hop influences, I love working out with her!

5. Focus T25 by Shaun T
I started this challenge towards the end of 2014 based on the recommendation of a friend. It's been almost three weeks now and I am already seeing results. Each workouts is only 25 minutes so no excuse of "I don't have time". It comes in three Stages (Alpha, Beta, Gamma). I might do a review when I'm done.

The calender for the first stage( I am currently on this one)
I got mine from a friend but you can get it here

That's it guys, some workouts to kick-start your resolution to shape up. Have you tried some of these challenges before? How was it? If you have more workout challenges, let me know, I'd love to try them out.
