Hey Beautiful people, how was your democracy day holiday? I spent mine at work but branched at the market during my break and got tons of fabric  which I can't wait to give to my new tailor.

Now it's no secret that the Nigerian economy is not very favorable, especially to the average citizen who wants to look fashionable. If you refer to my post on tips on how to be fashionable on a tight budget, then you would note that I mentioned tailored clothing as an option.

Now while I prefer ready-made clothes or vintage, tailored clothing is more budget friendly, especially with the dollar Naira rate. So the solution as my mom would say is to get good fabrics and designs. My new found tailor CeCe nailed it for just 4k for everything!

Initially I was not going to style my co-ord set together as I'm not a big fan of bold prints. Though after several compliments I decided to give it a try and I must say I love the outcome. See the power of words.

When styling my culottes and peplum set, I decided to go for basic heels due to the bright print and my cat-eye frames to spice things up. I love the pajama feel of the fabric as well.

How would you style this differently? And how do you stay fashionable on a budget?

Hey beautiful people, Happy Children's day!

So I'm back with another collaboration and today I'm partnering with one of my favourite Nigerian bloggers, Nkechi of Style By Enkay, to give you tips on how to rock Monochrome. The amazing thing about Nkecki is that she  she makes her own clothes, jewellery and is also a makeup artist. I'm so glad we are finally doing something together.

We all know that you can't go wrong with black and white, it's one of those pairings. Now I decided to go with a white flared skirt, you all know how much I love my midi-skirts. I then paired it with my black simple top, added a statement necklace and whala, there you go.

I added my black pumps but also swapped with my Gafasandals (style here and here) for a more casual fit. I honestly prefer this look with the sandals though, you?

Now, Enkay went for a more corporate look with a stripped blazer and black pencil skirt, see how we all incorporated basics into our outfits?

Till next time my guys!

Hey beautiful people!

Guess whose birthday it is today? Well it's none other than my favorite man in the world, my daddy!
This post was supposed to be up a lot earlier but situations out of my control brought us to where we are right now.

My dad is an amazing person, the best role model out there and if you've met my dad then you'd definitely agree with me. We not only look alike but as my mom would say; I took after him in many other ways.

This post is a tribute to him; I'll be sharing a few things that my dad has taught me.

1. Love for God
My dad always says; hold God like an egg because in this life we can't do anything without him. My Dad's success today is a testament to his relationship with God and God's presence in his life. I'm so thankful to have such a strong spiritual role model. Seriously in another life I probably would have been a pastor's daughter, who knows maybe it'll happen is this life.

 2. Positive thinking and words
I'm sure you've all heard of the quote "speak things into existence", well my dad lives this. When my dad is sick he would say I'm very strong, he always proclaims positive things and that has really impacted on me. So much so that I try to see the positive side of everything and constantly proclaim God promises in my life.

3. Confidence
My dad is the most confident person I know. Though not in a cocky way just in  "I know who I am and what I can do sort of way". Growing up, my father instilled in me this self belief that I still posses till today. I believe with a little faith in God and ourselves, we can do anything!

4. Relationship
Thanks to my dad, I see what I want in a relationship and family. The commitment and honesty I want in my future partner. Thanks to the love I've seen in my dad, I know my worth and know that I can't and won't settle for anything less than I deserve.

5. Prayer
I can't remember a time that my dad ended a call or text without praying for me and my siblings. In fact when trouble strikes before thinking of anything else, I pray about it or bring out my anointing oil.

I've learnt so much more from my dad, subconscious lessons and unconscious attitudes. All in all, I'm thankful for my father. If everyone were privileged to be raised by my parents,
this world would be a better place.

This is me saying thank you Dad and happy 52nd birthday!
Fun fact, my das calls me princess hence my blog title, Princess Audu.

Shout out to all the amazing dads like mine, what lessons did you learn from your father? Be sure to check out my tribute post (here) to my mom on her special day.

Hey Beautiful people!

So today rather than my usual "Sarah Speaks" Segment I'm back with another outfit post. Wow can you remember the last time, I posted two outfit in one week? I miss those days though.  Today I'm partnering with my fellow bloggers to bring the monthly How would you wear challenge. Yeah we took a break for a while but we are back with the theme, how to style off-shoulders.

The off-shoulder trend is one I absolutely adore but based on my conservative style and my not wanting to be bothered with bra issues, I am yet to fully embrace the trend. I decided to style my trousers, previously styled here with my semi-off shoulder blouse. I then added a statement necklace.  I couldn't decide on my shoe choice so I rocked both my Zara sandals and Forever 21 pumps but I've got to admit that I prefer the pumps with this outfit, don't you?

How have you styled this trend? Or better yet what's your take on this trend?

Hey Beautiful People, how are we all doing?

I was just thinking the other day, how much I miss being a child. I remember when I was younger, I just wanted to grow up and experience life but seriously though, adulthood is stressful. Now I have to get a job or more like a career, make money and very soon get married. Because in this part of the world once you're done with school, it's time to get married. Oh well, God is in control, so everything will work out.

Anyways, I was given this skirt by my colleague Agatha, hence the title of this post. As you all know, I love my midi-skirts and normally, I wouldn't  purchase a flamboyant piece like this, but I love the skirt. I decided to pair the skirt with my burgundy stop (styled here and here) to give the look a bit of color blocking.

What do you miss about Childhood?

Blogging is great, it's fun and offers an avenue to meet new people and gain new experiences. However what most people fail to see is the behind the scenes process, which takes a lot of time and commitment.

Which brings me to my next point, why do you blog? Is it for the money? I know most people think or thought that way. Is it for the fame? Or do you have the passion for sharing your ideas on your own space?

Now why do I blog?  I consider my blog to be my little baby, a thing of pride you see. I've always wanted something to call my own. I mean I'm not a great singer, dancer and neither do I posses special skills but I blog.

I just love being able to express my creativity in my own space and you guys always make me motivated to keep going, even when I feel discouraged. Just a simple comment on my blog or email asking for help or even a follow on my social media handles, makes it all worth it.

So why do you blog?

My people, how have you been? How was your weekend? Mine was awesome and it feels amazing to say that. Now, if you refer to my last lifestyle post, I stated that I rarely get the chance to tour the city of Calabar as my job keeps me busy.

But over the weekend, I went to the movies, my first time this year. Met up with Calabar based blogger Ugo of The Beautiful Eagle and we talked like friends catching up after a long while. Finally, I got my blog pictures for the month done and then bonded with my colleagues after work at Marina Resort yesterday. And Yes I work on Sundays, immediately after church that is.

Now one of the things I miss most about Thailand, is the cheap shopping, especially thrifting. You know I got most of classic pants there and this pair is no exception. You wouldn't even believe how affordable these pants are.

Anyways, for today's outfit post, I wanted to incorporate shades of pink. I have previously styled these trousers here and here.  Now I styled this look with a lunch date in mind but this outfit might just work for the office.  Crop tops plus anything high waist paired with pumps always makes a great combination, don't you think?

Hey guys, how we all doing? How are you spending your holiday? I'm at work because well in radio, public holidays and weekends are normal working days.

Its funny last year when I had so much free time, I hated it but you know now that I'm busy I quite miss having a life. I guess we humans can never be satisfied.

Anyways I pulled out my little black dress, previously styled here and paired it with my kimono styled here. If you recall my post on how to mix prints, I noted that when mixing prints, the items should have a common colour. And in this look, the colours are black and white.
